Wednesday
I am afraid I have not yet got rid of my horrid jet lag. woke up around a quarter past 4 and never got myself back to sleep again. Then I decided to spend some time reading instead.
It was no accident that I soon found myself reading Guardian's reviews on Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go and Barnes' Arthur & George. I have had a change to read the review on Ishiguro before when it was still long-listed for the Man Booker Prize this year (now short-listed together with Barnes and 4 others). His new novel tells the story of a school where clone kids are nurtured (again, via the reminiscences of the protagnists) while "Arthur & George" brings us to a true crime and punishment story in 20th century Britain, which involves Arthur Conan Doyle and George Edjali, a Birmingham solicitor falsely charged.
